Tribute band A Farewell to Kings (AF2K) recreates the live performances of Rush with two sets of their music.
A Farewell to Kings (AF2K) brings their Rush tribute to the Lincoln Theatre on Sunday, November 22. They're coming from Toms River, New Jersey, and they've built the whole thing around Rush's original trio—the 'Holy Triumvirate' of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart. The Raleigh date is billed as two sets of Rush, so you'll get a full night of music rather than a single run-through.
They describe themselves as a faithful recreation of Rush's live sound and production, and the setlist doesn't just stick to the well-known stuff. They lean into the sprawling epics and the rare deep cuts that built the band's following, so it's as much for the long-time fans as it is for anyone who knows the big hits. The band is a four-piece: Zack James on vocals, Aaron Leone on guitar, Adam Cyran on bass and keys, and Johnny Vines on drums. They've grown as a grassroots, community-driven organization, and they talk about their following as a tight-knit family of passionate fans.
