Tufting Workshop: Make a Tufted Mirror

Tiger Lily Tufts is running a tufting workshop at Hotwalls Studios on Saturday 5 September, from 10am to 1pm. It's a beginner-friendly session, so you don't need to have ever touched a tufting gun before to join in.

Over the morning, you'll work with a cut-pile tufting gun to bring your own design to life on a 40x40cm workspace. All the materials are supplied, and the class is kept small—no more than four people per session—which means you'll get plenty of one-on-one guidance as you go. By the time you're finished, you'll have a piece of personalised tufted artwork to take home.

The workshop is run by the artist from her own studio at Hotwalls, which is housed in Portsmouth's historic Round Tower. The studios programme workshops led by local designer-makers alongside paint-along events in pubs and bars across the city, and she also offers punch needle workshops if you're after something a bit different from the tufting gun. It's a good way to spend a Saturday morning if you've been wanting to try tufting without having to buy all the gear yourself.

It runs from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 5 September at Hotwalls Studios in Old Portsmouth, and it's £115 per person.
