An arts and crafts workshop at Wymering Manor as part of the Portsmouth100 heritage art club, exploring local history through creative activities.
Wymering Manor hosts a session of the Portsmouth100 Wonders: Heritage Art Club on Saturday 14 November, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. It's one of several workshops running across the city as part of the Portsmouth100 celebrations, which lead up to the exhibition Your museum. Your stories. Your city., opening in October 2026.

The morning follows a set pattern: the first half is about listening, with facts, stories and anecdotes shared about the city's landmarks — some well-known, some tucked away. The second half is when you get to make something from them. Depending on the session, that might mean collage, drawing, sketching, storytelling or photography, and each club venue has its own particular artistic focus. For this one at Wymering Manor, the activity is arts and crafts, with the facilitator still to be confirmed.
It's open to anyone over 16, and you don't need any previous experience to join in — just a bit of curiosity and maybe a story of your own. All the materials you'll need for the workshop are provided, so you can just turn up. The project is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and sits within the wider #Portsmouth100 initiative.
Entry is free, and you'll need to book your place through Eventbrite. It runs from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday 14 November at Wymering Manor.
