Beginner-friendly tufting workshop to create your own tufted mirror with Tiger Lily Tufts.
Tiger Lily Tufts are running a tufting workshop at Hotwalls Studios in Old Portsmouth on Saturday 4 July, where you'll make your own tufted mirror. If you've never heard of tufting, it's basically the process of using a handheld gun to shoot yarn through fabric to create a thick, plush rug — and in this one, that rug becomes the frame for a mirror.
Over the course of the session, you'll learn how to use a cut-pile tufting gun and work your way through your own design within a 40x40 cm workspace. It's a beginner-friendly setup, so you don't need to have ever touched a tufting gun before to get stuck in. The whole thing takes about three hours, and the classes are kept small, with a maximum of four people per session, which means you'll get plenty of one-on-one help while you're working.
It's aimed at adults and younger makers with an interest in art, crafts and DIY — not a children's workshop. If you're into making things by hand, it's a good way to spend a Saturday morning and leave with something you can actually hang on your wall. The 4 July session runs from 10:00 to 13:00, and it costs £115 per person.

If that date doesn't work, there are two more sessions coming up later in the summer: Sunday 9 August and Saturday 5 September, both also from 10:00 to 13:00. For more details or to book, you can find them at tigerlilytufts.com or give them a call on 07596494189.
