Silver Stacking Rings Workshop

Rachael Plassard Jewellery is running a silver stacking rings workshop at Hotwalls Studios on Sunday 6 September, from 10:00 to 13:00. Over the course of three hours, you'll make three sterling silver rings that sit together on one finger. It's a morning session, so you're done by lunchtime.

Plassard teaches traditional jewellery-making techniques, and you'll get stuck into the actual craft rather than just assembling pre-made bits. That means sawing, filing, shaping, soldering and polishing — the same steps used to make jewellery from scratch. The sessions are kept small, limited to four people, so there's plenty of one-to-one guidance throughout. It's designed for complete beginners, but it works if you've got some experience and want to brush up on the basics.

All the tools and materials are included, and there's tea, coffee and biscuits on hand. You leave with the set of three sterling silver rings you've made yourself. Plassard also donates 50p to Mental Health UK with every paid booking.

The workshop is in Studio 5 at Hotwalls Studios, Broad Street, Old Portsmouth, PO1 2FS — a seaside studio in historic Old Portsmouth. It runs from 10:00 to 13:00 on Sunday 6 September, and costs £90 per guest.
