The Sex Pistols original line-up, fronted by Frank Carter, performs on the 'Anarchy in the UK Tour' celebrating 50 years of punk.
Sex Pistols are playing Portsmouth Guildhall on Tuesday 15 December, part of their Anarchy in the U.K. Tour. It's a winter headline run celebrating 50 years since the band formed in 1975 and released Anarchy In The UK, and it follows a series of special summer gigs.
The line-up is the original trio of Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock, with Frank Carter on vocals. Carter comes from Gallows and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and he's stepping into the frontman role for this run. It's the three original members back together on stage, playing songs they wrote half a century ago.
They've spoken about how different it feels now compared to the start. Drummer Paul Cook describes their first year together as "kind of like a commando raid", with venues often unaware they were playing until the band just turned up and set up, learning on the job. Guitarist Steve Jones says they now feel like a "well-oiled machine" playing those same songs, and adds, "if it ain't fun, I ain't doing it".

It's worth noting that John 'Johnny Rotten' Lydon won't be joining them; he's promised never to return, after a high-profile court battle to stop the band's songs being used in the Disney+ series Pistol. So it's Jones, Cook and Matlock with Carter taking the lead.
The show starts at 19:00 at Portsmouth Guildhall on Tuesday 15 December.
