A safe and friendly skate session for toddlers under five to learn balance and coordination, sponsored by Micro Scooters.
Roller Tots is back at Pitt St. Skatepark on Thursday 17 September, and it's more than just a one-off. It's the start of a long run of under-5s skate sessions that keep going well into the autumn: 24 September, then 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 October, and 5, 12, 19 and 26 November. If you've got a little one who's always on wheels, that's plenty of chances to get them sorted.
The sessions are sponsored by Micro Scooters and run from 11:00 to 12:45 on Thursdays. They're pitched as a safe and friendly way for toddlers to get a taste of skating and work on their balance and coordination, with parents and children bonding over the activity. It's a good spot to start if you're not sure how they'll take to it.
Pitt St. Skatepark itself is Portsmouth's indoor playground for anything on wheels, housed in a converted former Sainsbury's and packed with ramps, rails and flatland for skateboards, scooters, BMX, quads and blades. It's run as a Community Interest Company by members of the local skate community, who also run the on-site Pitt St. Kitchen café and bar. Beyond the under-5s sessions, the park runs Home Ed sessions for home-educated children on Fridays and The Academy of Wheels, a structured coaching programme covering skateboarding, roller skating, inline skating and BMX with qualified, DBS-checked coaches.

One thing to keep in mind: during the holidays, the sessions move to the 'Temple Of Wheels' roller rink, so check the dates before you head out. It's £5 per child, and the park is at 315 Commercial Road, PO1 4AY.
