A safe and friendly introductory roller skating session for toddlers under five years old to develop balance and coordination.
Roller Tots are back at Pitt St. Skatepark on Thursday 23 July, the start of a new run of under-fives skate sessions that will keep going every Thursday until 26 November 2026. If you've got a little one at home who's just starting to find their feet on wheels, this is exactly the kind of thing to get them into.
The sessions are built for toddlers, so they're kept safe and friendly, and they're all about giving the youngest skaters a taste of what skating is like without any pressure. It's a chance for them to work on their balance and coordination at their own pace, and since there'll be other kids there, they'll pick up some new friends along the way. It's also one of those activities where you're right there with them, so it's as much about you and your child bonding over it as it is about the skating itself.
That's the core of it: a dedicated space for the under-fives to get moving and for parents to be part of the process. It's a low-stakes way to introduce them to the sport, with plenty of room to wobble and find their balance while they get used to the feeling of rolling.

The sessions run from 11:00 to 12:45 every Thursday, starting on 23 July and continuing through to 26 November. You'll find them at Pitt St. Skatepark, 315 Commercial Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO1 4AY, though it's worth keeping in mind that the sessions move to the 'Temple Of Wheels' roller rink during the holidays. If you're planning to make a habit of it, just check where they'll be before you head out.
