A practical, hands-on musical theatre dance workshop led by The Portsmouth Players, themed around Hamilton, suitable for beginners or those looking to refine their skills.
The Portsmouth Players are running a musical theatre dance workshop at The Barn Studio Theatre on Saturday 27 June, from 11am to 1pm. It's an in-person session, so you'll be on your feet rather than watching from the side. The focus is commercial and hip-hop style, built around Hamilton, and it's open to anyone aged 13 and over. Whether you're a complete beginner or just want to polish what you already know, it's designed to work for both.

The workshop is part of the Open Weekend at The Barn, which is marking the centenary of The Portsmouth Players. They're the oldest theatre company in the city, and the whole thing traces back to their first production, The Gondoliers, which they put on in 1927. This session is one of the things they've got lined up as part of that celebration, so it's a good way to get involved with the company if you've never done so before.
It's a two-hour session, and you'll need to bring a photo ID to prove you're 13 or over. The Barn Studio Theatre is at 182 Milton Road, PO4 8PR, and doors open at 10:45, so you've got a bit of time to get settled before things kick off at 11:00. Tickets start from £7.50 per person.
