A children's dance workshop where participants learn songs and choreography from the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, working towards a mini-performance.
The Portsmouth Players are running a Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat dance workshop for children at The Barn Studio Theatre on Saturday 27 June. It's a two-hour session from 14:00 to 16:00, and the doors open at 13:45, so there's plenty of time to get settled before it kicks off.

The whole thing is built around the show, so the kids will spend the afternoon learning songs and choreography from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. They'll be working together towards a mini-performance at the end, which is the bit they'll probably be most excited to show off. There's no experience needed to join in—just enthusiasm and a love for the show—so it's open to anyone who fancies a go, regardless of whether they've ever stepped foot in a dance class before.
It's a family affair, aimed at children under 16 who need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The workshop is part of the Open Weekend at The Barn Studio Theatre, which is celebrating the centenary of The Portsmouth Players—the city's oldest amateur dramatic society, running since 1927. It's a nice bit of local history to have as a backdrop, and the Open Weekend has other things going on too, so you might find more to do around the theatre while the kids are busy.
Practical details: the workshop is at The Barn Studio Theatre, 182 Milton Road, Portsmouth, PO4 8PR, on Saturday 27 June from 14:00 to 16:00. Tickets start from ÂŁ7.50 per person.
