Libbie Coulson is running a beaded necklace workshop at Hotwalls Studios on Sunday 2 August, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It's a two-hour session where you'll design and make your own necklace from scratch, and you don't need any previous experience to join in.
Coulson runs the jewellery label 26th of May, and she'll be leading the whole thing. The session starts with a practice run on how to finish a necklace securely, so you've got the technique down before you commit to your actual piece. From there, you'll pick your own colours and put together a design that suits your style, rather than following a set pattern. You'll be working with Czech fire-polished beads and Miyuki bugle beads, and each necklace is finished with a sterling silver clasp for a professional look. All the materials are provided, so you just need to turn up.
It's set up as a mindful, welcoming space for beginners and jewellery lovers alike, so if you've never touched a bead in your life, you're in the right place. The focus is on learning a new skill at your own pace, with the practice session at the start taking the pressure off.

Hotwalls Studios is tucked into the heritage arches of Point Battery, a creative quarter that brings together local artists, designers and makers. The workshop runs from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday 2 August, and it costs £75.
