A family-friendly Halloween celebration with trunk-or-treat, art market, games, crafts, performances, and a baking competition.
The Woodstock Spooktacular returns to the Woodstock Community Center on Saturday, October 31, from 3 to 6 PM. It's a Woodstock tradition that comes back every year, put on by the Woodstock Neighborhood Association and the Woodstock Community Business Association. The celebration runs along Woodstock Boulevard in Southeast Portland and is built as a free, family-friendly afternoon for all ages.
There's a lot to do over those three hours. The main draw is the trunk-or-treat, where you can walk from car to car and collect candy, but that's just one part of it. There's an art market for browsing, games and crafts to keep kids busy, and performances scattered throughout the afternoon. There's also a photo spot for getting a picture of your costume, and a doggy costume contest for anyone who wants to dress up their pet.
One of the more specific traditions is the Spooktacular Baking Competition. If you're entering, you'll need to bring a dish that serves eight to twelve people and drop it off at the community center before the festivities begin. The rest of the afternoon is open to everyone, with food and drinks on hand.
