Year-round flagship farmers market with local farmers and food producers at Portland State University.
The PSU Farmers Market is back on Saturday, December 5, at the PSU South Park Blocks (1803 SW Park Ave) on the Portland State University campus. It's the year-round flagship of the Portland Farmers Market, and it's been running under a canopy of giant elm trees on campus since 1996.
On a summer Saturday, the market can welcome up to 9,000 shoppers, and it draws as many as 13,000 customers weekly—local residents, chefs, and visitors from around the world. There are as many as 100 vendor stalls of local farmers and food producers, so you'll find a wide variety of produce and prepared foods in one spot. The pedestrian-only urban park setting, along with local musicians and seasonal events, has made it a fixture of downtown.
Getting there is easy. It's reachable by TriMet, MAX, the Portland Streetcar, and bus routes, with on-street parking and several nearby garages. The market accepts cash, credit, and debit, as well as market tokens and SNAP. It also participates in the Double Up Food Bucks program, which matches up to $20 in SNAP benefits.
