Concert by the Los Angeles psychedelic rock band Triptides at Swan Dive, a 21+ venue.
Triptides play Swan Dive on Tuesday, November 10, at 7 PM. They're a cosmic rock band from Los Angeles, and this is one stop on a wider tour running from November 8 to 15 across several cities.
Their sound pulls from a few different places at once: psychedelic rock, Laurel Canyon folk, and spaced-out jazz pop. The melodies and harmonies come from frontman Glenn Brigman, and the arrangements are built around chiming guitars, hypnotic drums, glittering pianos, and fuzz. The show is billed as neo-psychedelic, psychedelic rock, and space rock, so you'll get a good sense of those cosmic leanings in the set.
On stage, the lineup is Glenn Brigman on guitar, organ, and vocals; Craig Jacobs on drums; Tyler English on bass; and Stephen Burns on bass and vocals. With two bass players in the mix, there's a lot of low end to hold up the more atmospheric, floating parts of the sound.
