A professional development conference for transportation engineers and ITS professionals focusing on sensor technology and security, hosted by the Oregon Section of ITE.
Traffic Day 2026 lands at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel on Tuesday, October 13, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. It's a one-day professional development conference that brings together transportation engineers, signal technicians, and ITS professionals, mixing hands-on training with technical sessions. The day is hosted by the Oregon Section of ITE, the IMSA Northwest Section, and ITS Washington.
This year's theme is The Year of Sensorama, and it puts public-agency experiences with sensors front and center. The sessions cover everything from vandalism to troubleshooting, and vendors will be on hand to show off their latest sensor technology. One of the early highlights is Session 1, Vandalism and Security, featuring Ted Miller from ODOT, Trung Vo from PBOT, and Charles Smith from WSDOT.

Parking is complimentary on-site at the hotel on a first-come, first-served basis; if that fills up, the Aloft Portland at Cascade Station, about a mile and a half away, also offers free parking and a free shuttle to get you back to the hotel.
