Swedish indie-folk artist The Tallest Man on Earth performs live at Revolution Hall as part of his North American tour.
The Tallest Man on Earth plays Revolution Hall on Sunday, November 8, as part of his North American tour. The set will draw from his latest album, Just Beyond Endless Mountain.
The Tallest Man on Earth is the stage name of Kristian Matsson, a Swedish indie-folk songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who's spent nearly twenty years carving out a singular place in contemporary folk. He grew up in Vålarna, in central Sweden's Dalarna region, during the 1980s and '90s, surrounded by fiddlers and folk dancers. His music draws on the polskas, old field recordings, and folk dances he absorbed as a child.
Critics frequently compare him to Bob Dylan in both songwriting and vocal style. Matsson has acknowledged the influence, saying he started listening to Dylan at fifteen and was drawn to early American folk artists like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, though he's quick to distance himself from any single tradition. On stage, he's known for roaming every inch of his guitar cord. His 2023 album, Henry St., was his first recorded in a band setting.
