Stand-up comedy show with Jerry Wayne Longmire, a veteran comic and internet personality, at Helium Comedy Club.
Jerry Wayne Longmire is performing at Helium Comedy Club on Saturday, October 10, at 4 PM. He's a veteran stand-up comic and internet personality based in Houston, and he'll be taking the stage in the club's afternoon room, The Neon Room.
If you haven't come across him yet, Longmire has built a massive online presence around his East Texas junkyard upbringing. He's gathered more than 1.5 million followers and nearly 300 million impressions across platforms with series like the Truck Astrology roast and the garage antics of Shoptalk. He also performs for the troops overseas and serves as a recurring judge for the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, Mattel's annual custom car competition. His podcast, The Reckon Yard, turns that same Southern piney woods upbringing into a self-examination now in its fourth season, and the first season landed him a two-book deal.
On stage, he describes his shows as lively, non-political, and rated PG-13. It's a good description to keep in mind if you're planning your afternoon: it's comedy that stays away from the political divide and keeps the language relatively clean, so it's a fair bet for a casual Saturday outing. The show is at 4 PM, which puts it in the middle of the day rather than the usual late-night comedy slot.
