The Liminanas fuse 1960s French music heritage with modern rock, singing in French and English, supported by Native Sun.
The Limiñanas play the Star Theater on Monday, May 17, 2027, with Native Sun opening. The duo is Lionel and Marie Limiñana, who come from a small town in the South of France. They build their sound around the 1960s French yéyé heritage, fusing it with modern rock and blending the rebellious spirit and aesthetic of the Gainsbourg and Bardot era with contemporary garage and psychedelic sounds. They sing in both French and English.
Their album Faded pays tribute to forgotten female stars from the 1950s to today, and it features contributions from Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, Bertrand Belin, Rover, Anna Jean of Juniore, and Penny and Jon Spencer, among others. On stage, Marie plays drums, percussion and vocals, while Lionel handles fuzz-drenched guitars, bass and keyboards. They're joined by longtime collaborator Pascal Comelade and mixer David Menke.
