The Candy Os with H.I.V.E.S and The Tube

The Candy Os head up a tribute night at The Six Below Midnight on Friday, October 23, with H.I.V.E.S and The Tube joining them on the bill. It's a one-night-only show presented by The Six Below Midnight, and the whole thing is for over-21s.

The night is built around cover sets rather than straight tributes, and the organizers describe it as Television, The Hives and The Cars getting the 'basement treatment'. The Tube take on Television, H.I.V.E.S tackle The Hives, and The Candy Os handle The Cars. It's three distinct eras of guitar music—the art-rock of Television, the garage-rock of The Hives and the new-wave hooks of The Cars—all on one bill.

There's a good bit of local muscle behind the sets, too. Musicians from Federale, Cheex and White Lightning Co. are among those involved, so you'll recognize a few familiar faces from around the city's scene. The bill is built around these cover sets, with each band focusing on their respective subject.

Doors open at 8:30 PM and the music starts at 9:00 PM, with the night running through 11:30 PM. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 on the day of the show. The venue is The Midnight PDX & The Six Venue, 3341 SE Belmont, Portland, OR 97214.
