Live concert by the electronic pop duo Sylvan Esso at the historic McMenamins Crystal Ballroom.
Sylvan Esso play the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom on Monday, February 22, 2027. The pop duo is Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, who met in a Wisconsin deli in 2012. Meath wrote and sang their emotionally multivalent songs while Sanborn crafted the beats, and over time their roles have become so intertwined that every new song feels both rigorously conceptual and completely rapturous. They hail from Durham, North Carolina, and are known for a blend of electronic pop, captivating live performances and innovative soundscapes.
Their third album, Free Love, frames their long-term tension as a fun argument: Sanborn wants things to sound unsettling, while Meath wants them to make people dance. The set draws on their acclaimed albums, including Free Love and What Now.
