Concert featuring Swedey, Seaholly, Late Enough and other acts at No Fun Bar, over-21s only.
Swedey plays No Fun Bar on Friday, October 16, with Seaholly and Late Enough on the bill. The venue is at 1709 Hawthorne Blvd in Portland, and the night is for over-21s only.
Swedey hails from Longview, Washington, and plays a mix of alternative, hard alternative, shoegaze, and post-grunge. It's a sound that pulls from a few different directions at once: the distorted, wall-of-sound textures of shoegaze, the heavier edge of hard alternative, and the melodic, often melancholic lean of post-grunge. Hearing those things together in one set gives you a sense of where the band sits—somewhere between the loud and the melodic.
They're the main feature of the night, and they're sharing the stage with Seaholly and Late Enough. With three acts on the bill, it's a full evening of music rather than a single set, and the lineup spans the same general territory of guitar-driven alternative.
