A night of open jam sessions with instruments, games and good vibes, open to anyone with a musical interest. 21+ event with valid ID required.
The Sunday Open Jam is back at Barrel Room this Sunday, October 11, from 8 PM to midnight. It's a night of music, games and good vibes where the stage is open to anyone—whether you're a seasoned musician or just someone who loves to vibe—to grab an instrument and join in. When you aren't playing, there's a ping pong table for challenging friends, and the whole thing runs late into the night.
Barrel Room is in Old Town Chinatown, Portland's oldest neighborhood, a bustling entertainment and streetwear-shopping district along the west side of the Willamette River. The area is home to the Lan Su Chinese Garden, a 40,000-square-foot Ming Dynasty-style garden built in 1999 by a team of experts who traveled from Suzhou, China, which announced an expansion in early 2025. It was also home to a vibrant Japantown, the history of which the Japanese American Museum of Oregon explores, and it still offers the city's only remaining authentic Chinese restaurants, Golden Horse and Republic Cafe.
