Concert by the pop rock and pop punk band State Champs, with support from Cartel and Taylor Acorn at the Roseland Theater.
State Champs play the Roseland Theater on Tuesday, November 17, with Cartel and Taylor Acorn opening. It's a pop punk bill that pulls from a few different eras of the sound, so you'll get a full night of music rather than just one band's set.
State Champs come from Albany, New York, and they've spent the last decade building their name in the pop punk scene. The current lineup is Ryan Graham, Evan Ambrosio, Derek Discanio, and Tyler Szalkowski. They're known for the kind of high-energy, melodic pop rock that sits right in the middle of the genre—catchy hooks, driving guitars, and the kind of songs that work as well in a room as they do on a record. One of their earlier releases, Around The World And Back, eventually came out in a 10th anniversary edition, which gives you a good sense of how long they've been at this.
They aren't the only ones on the bill. Cartel and Taylor Acorn are both opening, and they bring their own histories to the night. Cartel is a name that'll be familiar if you've spent any time with the pop punk of the 2000s, and Taylor Acorn has carved out her own space in the scene more recently. With three acts on the program, the night starts well before the headliner takes the stage.
