Concert by the American post-hardcore and alternative rock band Sparta at Show Bar.
Sparta play the Show Bar at Revolution Hall on Sunday, November 8, 2026. It's a single-bill night with the band as the sole feature on the program.
Sparta is an American band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 2001. For a while, they were a regular name in the post-hardcore and alternative rock circles, but they've been quiet on the recording front for a long stretch. Their last album, Threes, came out in 2006, and this show comes with new material to go along with it.
That new record is Trust The River, the first Sparta album in twenty years. It grew out of frontman Jim Ward moving toward heavier, riff-laden music starting in 2017, which eventually brought him back together with bandmate Matt Miller. They rounded out the lineup with Cully Symington and Gabriel Gonzalez, and worked with producer David Garza to put it together. The sound sits in that same alternative, post-hardcore, and rock territory they've always occupied, though the tags around them pull in a few different directions: indie/alternative, metal, emo, screamo, midwest emo, and emo punk. It's a broad spread, but it all points back to the same guitar-driven core.

So the set will draw from both ends of their catalog—the newer songs from Trust The River and the older material from the years before. If you've followed them since the early 2000s, it's a chance to hear where they've landed after two decades away from the studio. The show is at the Show Bar at Revolution Hall, 1300 SE Stark St #110, and it starts at 8 PM.
