A juried group art show featuring 100 regional artists and 300 works, with live music, artist conversations and a scavenger hunt for kids.
The Sitka Art Invitational is back at Oregon Contemporary from October 16 to 18, 2026. It's one of the largest and longest-running juried group shows in the Pacific Northwest, and this year it brings together about 100 regional artists with more than 300 works on the walls. The selection process is a rotating one: every year a new jury of artists, curators, gallerists, and art educators picks the lineup, with nominations open from December through February.
It's a sale as much as a show. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, and prints are all available for purchase, and the proceeds are split 50/50 between the artists and the Sitka Center for Art & Ecology's nonprofit programs. If you're looking for something to take home, that's the main draw here. Beyond the art, there are Artist Conversations where you can hear the people behind the work talk through their creative processes, and an art scavenger hunt for kids. The artists wear orange name tags, so they're easy to spot if you want to say hello.
Live music runs alongside the exhibition. The Galway Ramblers will be playing, as will the Central Coast Jazz Alliance led by Bill Hartsell, Thomas Meinzen, and Iro & the Moon, and the Djangophiles. The venue is in Portland's Kenton neighborhood, and the organizers suggest spending some time exploring the local independent businesses before heading inside.
