Fotocrime plays Bunk Bar on Saturday, October 10, as part of a three-band bill. The headliner is Shiner, who are in town on their US tour, with Utility also on the bill. Doors open at 7 PM and the music starts at 8 PM.
Fotocrime is the project of singer, guitarist, and producer Ryan Patterson, who hails from Louisville, Kentucky. He describes his sound as electronic-meets-organic post-punk, built around danceable drum machines, layered synths, driving bass, and chiming guitars. His own baritone fronts the songs, and he says the music is infused with Cold War paranoia, modern-day malaise, and smoky noir.

Bunk Bar, at 1028 SE Water Ave, is a mid-sized Portland venue known as much for its sandwiches as for touring indie acts and a danceable, high-energy crowd. It's a 21+ room, so bring your ID. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
