A popular market with over 30 vendor booths filled with farm-fresh and locally-made food, including the annual Harvest Market.
Shemanski Park Farmers Market returns to Shemanski Park on Wednesday, November 25, for its Harvest Market. It's the final market of the year, coming after a regular run that went from May 6 through October 28.
Founded in 1998, the market has become a midweek destination for downtown residents, office workers, students, tourists and local chefs, drawing around 2,500 weekly shoppers to the south park blocks. More than 30 booths run the show, with farms, artisans, bakers and hot food vendors selling farm-fresh and locally-made food under a lush canopy of trees. It's a good spot to pick up your produce and a few treats in one go, and the variety of vendors means you can walk away with everything from fresh vegetables to baked goods and hot food.
Getting there is easy. The market is at SW Park Avenue & Main Street, 1000 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR 97205, across from the Portland Art Museum and behind the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. It's accessible via TriMet, with on-street parking and several parking garages nearby, plus covered and uncovered bike parking. A Portland Loo serves the area on SW Park Avenue.
