Halloween-themed pop-up bars at select McMenamins locations, featuring seasonal cocktails and food, 21 and over.
McMenamins is running Samhain, a series of Halloween-themed pop-up bars across seven of its locations from October 1 through October 31. The name comes from the ancient Celtic festival, pronounced 'saw-when,' which marks the time when the veil between this world and the Otherworld grows thin and faeries and departed souls cross over. Back then, people dressed in disguise to dodge the mischief of evildoing spirits and left offerings of food and drink for gods and nature spirits, while also honoring their dead. These pop-ups bring that tradition to the bars, with a menu inspired by modern-day Halloween.
On the drink side, you'll find cocktails and alcohol-free options like the El Diablo and the N/A Jack-o'-Lantern Mule. For food, there's Ichabod's Slider Trio and Herman Muenster Grilled Cheese Toasties served with apple butter and fried sage. If you're a Passporter, you can collect a stamp at each pop-up, and there's limited-edition glassware and mugs available to buy. There's also a contest: post a selfie with the large creature found at any location to enter.
