Showcase of the new and historic event spaces for weddings, galas and corporate events with tastings, tours and live music.
Portland Art Museum Venues is opening its doors for an events showcase on Wednesday, October 21, from 3 PM to 7 PM. It's a look at the museum's event spaces, run by the Portland Art Museum—the oldest museum in the Pacific Northwest and one of the country's most respected cultural institutions. The showcase is built around weddings, galas, and corporate gatherings, so it's geared toward anyone planning a big occasion.
Inside, you'll see the museum's historic ballrooms, the Sunken Ballroom and the Grand Ballroom, back in the mix after renovation and the opening of the Rothko Pavilion. In total, the museum offers more than 20,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space, including the newly transformed Rothko Pavilion—which brings together the Community Commons and West Plaza—and the Trustee Boardroom.
The afternoon is set up to show how these rooms actually work. You can step into a staged wedding ceremony in the Fred & Suzanne Fields Sunken Ballroom, tour the new spaces inside the Rothko Pavilion, and explore an expo-style reception in the Kridel Grand Ballroom. There'll be live music, small bites, and drinks from the museum's preferred caterers, guided tours led by the Event Sales & Coordination Specialist Team, and live demonstrations from the in-house audio-visual team.
