A networking gathering for women and gender-diverse music industry professionals featuring pizza, a party playlist, and song submissions.
Night Owl is back at Artichoke Music on Tuesday, October 13, from 6:30 PM to 9 PM. It's a women and gender-diverse music industry gathering, and it happens every second Tuesday of the month, so if you can't make this one, there's always the next. The night is presented as a space for musicians on the margins of male-dominated areas of the industry—music production being a prime example—and it's framed as laying the foundation for future industry takeovers.
The gathering is part of Artichoke Music's effort to make the Portland music scene more equitable, sustainable, and accessible for music professionals, and it's sponsored by Artichoke Music and the Oregon Community Foundation. The format is built around networking, pizza, and a party playlist of recordings by local women and gender-diverse musicians in Portland. Attendees are invited to submit their own songs to the mix, and producers and engineers are included in that call, too.
