Concert by the iconic Spanish vocal group Mocedades, featuring their classic hits in Spanish, presented by Puro Pa' Delante Music.
Mocedades play the Newmark Theatre on Saturday, October 10, as part of the Puro Pa' Delante Music Presents series. It's a night of their Spanish-language hits, and since the show is billed as all ages, it's one you can bring the whole family to.
If you aren't familiar with them, Mocedades is one of the most iconic vocal groups in Spanish-language music. They formed in Bilbao and rose to international fame in 1973 with "Eres TΓΊ," the song that took them to the Eurovision Song Contest and earned them a second-place finish. Over the decades, they built a signature sound around rich vocal harmonies and romantic ballads, selling millions of records and playing some of the most prestigious stages across Europe and the Americas. That's the tradition they're bringing to Portland: those same harmonies and the Spanish hits that made them known.
The venue is the Newmark Theatre, at 1111 SW Broadway in downtown Portland. It opened in 1987 as part of Antoinette Hall and was renamed in 1997 to honor Herb and Jeanne Mittleman Newmark. The design was inspired by the Edwardian theatres of Europe, and with two tiers of balconies, it offers clear sightlines from nearly 900 seats, so you'll have a good view regardless of where you sit.
