Live recording of the radio show featuring author Chuck Klosterman, comedian Joey Clift, and the band Ages and Ages.
Live Wire is recording a live show at the Alberta Rose Theatre on Thursday, October 15, with Chuck Klosterman, Joey Clift, Brittany Carney, and the band Ages and Ages. For those who aren't familiar, Live Wire is an independently produced public radio variety show that bills itself as "the hottest live radio show in Portland." It's built around pairing radio personalities with guests from comedy, music, and literature, and the whole thing is recorded live in front of an audience.
Luke Burbank hosts the night, and the headliner is Chuck Klosterman, a bestselling author of ten non-fiction books, including The Nineties, But What If We're Wrong?, and Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs. He's also written two novels and a short story collection. Over the years, his work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, GQ, Esquire, Spin, The Guardian, The Believer, and ESPN. He spent three years as the Ethicist for The New York Times Magazine and co-founded Grantland with Bill Simmons. His latest book, Rock: A Mainstream Alternative History of Alternative Mainstream Music, rewrites the history of alternative music as speculative fiction.
