Jesse Powers

Jesse Powers is playing at the Unity Spiritual Center of Portland this Sunday, October 18. It's a solo date, so it's just him on stage for the whole set.

Powers is a multi-genre musician, which is a polite way of saying he doesn't stick to one sound. He also goes by the name Joy Reminder-er, and that title gives you a fair idea of where he's coming from. If you've caught him before, you know he tends to pull from a few different places at once, and this show will be no different.

Since he's the only one on the bill, the set is built around his own work. It's a straightforward afternoon of live music in the city, with Powers as the sole feature. If you're familiar with his multi-genre approach, you know what to expect: one song might lean one way, and the next might shift entirely, with the common thread being his own voice and playing.

It's a Sunday morning show, so it's an easy one to fit into the weekend. The performance starts at 11 AM at the Unity Spiritual Center of Portland, in Portland, OR. If you're planning to be there, just keep in mind the early start—11 AM on a Sunday morning.
