Imperial Teen play Swan Dive on Sunday, October 18, with Kids on a Crime Spree opening. It's part of a run of headline dates they're playing on both coasts in support of All Over You, their new album on Merge Records.
Imperial Teen formed in San Francisco more than three decades ago — Roddy Bottum, Will Schwartz, Jone Stebbins and Lynn Truell. Their catalog stretches from the 1996 debut Seasick through What Is Not to Love (2002), The Hair the TV the Baby and the Band (2007), Feel the Sound (2012) and Now We Are Timeless (2019). These days the four live in different cities, writing together in retreats before reconvening to record.
All Over You blends the band's punk instincts with electro beats, bombastic drumming and stirring boy/girl harmonies. The title track even uses a glass jar and other studio items for percussion. The band's sound is defined by the power of four distinct voices coming together as one.
