Live concert by blues-rock artist Gary Clark Jr. at Revolution Hall in Portland.
Gary Clark Jr. plays Revolution Hall on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 8 PM. He's an Austin, Texas-based guitarist, songwriter, and singer, and this is a headline show with him as the sole bill.
If you're not familiar with the name, his debut album Blak And Blu put him on the map in a way few artists experience: it made him the first person ever nominated by the Recording Academy in both the rock and R&B categories for the same album in the same year. He walked away with Best Traditional R&B Performance for "Please Come Home." Since then, he's spent as much time on big stages as he has in the studio. He played "The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles," where he traded guitar lines with Joe Walsh on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with Dave Grohl on drums, and two of his acoustic blues tracks ended up on the soundtrack for 12 Years a Slave.
He's also a regular guest for the Rolling Stones, who invited him to join them on their 50th-anniversary tour more than any other artist, including the Hyde Park finale. President Barack Obama called him "the future" during a PBS White House blues concert, Rolling Stone dubbed him "The King of the Summer Festivals" and "The Chosen One," and Guitar Player made him the first emerging artist to grace its cover in more than 15 years. He's built his reputation on the guitar, and that's what he brings to the stage.
