Portland rock band Floater plays the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom with its sprung dance floor.
Floater are playing the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom on Friday, October 30, 2026. The show starts at 8 PM.
If you're not familiar with them, Floater are a Portland rock mainstay. They formed in Eugene, Oregon, back in 1993 and have been based here in Portland ever since. They're known for progressive concept albums and stylized storytelling, and their live shows are a big part of their following. The sets range from high-energy heavy rock to melodious ballads, blending alternative and hard rock with reggae and pop influences. They often lean on fan favorites like "The Sadist."
They've been around the Pacific Northwest long enough to be a local institution. In 2017, they were inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame, and their most recent album, The Thief, came out in 2018. This show is just Floater on the bill, so the whole night is built around them.

The venue is the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom at 1332 W Burnside St. It's one of the city's most recognizable rooms, famous for its sprung dance floor—the floor actually bounces, and that movement carries through the crowd. There's a full bar and restaurant on site, so you can grab a drink or a bite before the music starts. The show is on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 8 PM.
