Federale - Album Release (All Ages!) w/ Gata Galáctica & DJ Tobias Berblinger

Federale are playing McMenamins Kennedy School Theater on Friday, October 30, for an all-ages album release party. It's a Halloween-themed night, and they're celebrating their new LP, Love & Other Lies. Gata Galáctica opens, and DJ Tobias Berblinger handles the decks before the show and during the intermission.

Federale is a six-piece ensemble based here in Portland, led by Collin Hegna, who also plays bass for The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Hegna started the band as an outlet for the inspiration he draws from European soundtracks of the 1960s and 1970s, particularly the Italian scores that became famous through the Spaghetti Western and Giallo genres. The current lineup includes Chris Costalupes, Megan Diana, Collin Hegna, Pat Spurgeon, and Victor Franco. Their previous album, No Justice, was reviewed by Pitchfork.

This show is built around the new record, Love & Other Lies, and the Halloween theme fits the cinematic, moody sound they've been working with. With Gata Galáctica opening and Tobias Berblinger spinning before the set and during the break, the music runs pretty much the whole night. It's an all-ages show, so you can bring the kids along if you're planning a family Halloween outing.

The show starts at 7 PM on Friday, October 30, at the McMenamins Kennedy School Theater in Northeast Portland.
