A screening of David Lynch's surreal horror film Eraserhead as part of the Night Blooming Jasmine programme, with a product launch from Fresh Cut Flowers.
Eraserhead (1977) is coming to the Portland Art Museum on Saturday, October 17, from 2 PM to 4 PM. It's the opening screening of Night Blooming Jasmine, a weekend-long program of David Lynch films presented by Fresh Cut Flowers and PAM CUT. The movie is Lynch's first feature, a surreal horror cult classic that looks at fatherhood, anxiety, and alienation against a dystopian, noisy backdrop of dream logic. It runs an hour and 29 minutes.
The partnership behind the program is an interesting one. Fresh Cut Flowers is a contemporary lifestyle and floral studio based here in Portland, run by founder and designer Trey Hales and floral director Cody Shulund. They hold a store inside Machus on SW Alder Street and put on more than 25 events a year across Portland, New York, and Los Angeles. They built this collaboration around Lynch's visual language and his knack for finding the strange within the everyday—a sensibility they say sits close to their own nature-focused work.

Along with the screenings, a small collection of Night Blooming Jasmine products will be released. If you're coming for the movie, it's worth keeping that in mind. The screening takes place in the Whitsell Auditorium at the museum, 1219 SW Park Ave, from 2 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, October 17.
