Stand-up comedy performance by Emily Catalano at McMenamins Mission Theater, a 21+ event with proceeds benefiting The Healing Project.
Emily Catalano is playing two sets at the McMenamins Mission Theater on Friday, October 16. She's a Los Angeles comedian originally from San Francisco, and this is a stand-up night presented by OnPoint Community Credit Union. All proceeds go to The Healing Project, a grief-support program that provides lodging on the Oregon Coast.
If you haven't caught her yet, Catalano is known for a dry, deadpan delivery that doesn't waste words. She made her late-night stand-up debut on CONAN, and her debut special, UNSPECIAL, made the New York Times' 'Best Comedy of 2024' list. It's picked up nearly a million views on YouTube, and the Times praised both her delivery and her jokes that go for the jugular, drawing comparisons to Steven Wright, Tig Notaro, and Todd Barry. That puts her in a specific neighborhood: low-energy, high-impact comedy that lets the punchline do the heavy lifting rather than leaning on big gestures or loud energy.
