LA musician Dylan Thom plays a high-energy four-piece live show on the 'Since the Day I Met You' US tour, for ages 21 and up.
Dylan Thom plays Holocene on Wednesday, November 4, as part of his Since the Day I Met You US tour. He's an independent musician based in LA, and the Portland date is one of several stops on this run across the country.
Thom describes his sound as sitting somewhere between twee-tronica, emo and indie folk—three styles that don't often share a stage. Twee-tronica brings the softer, electronic side; emo provides the emotional weight; and indie folk grounds it in acoustic tradition. It's a broad range to cover in one set, and the live show is where those threads come together.
That live set is where the sound opens up. While the records might lean into the quieter side of those influences, the stage show is an electric, high-energy performance backed by a four-piece band. It's a full band on stage, not just a solo act, so the songs get a bigger, louder treatment than you'll find on the recordings. The Portland stop is part of the Since the Day I Met You tour, so the set will draw from that material.
