Drive-By Truckers perform live at Revolution Hall in Portland, accompanied by The Minus 5.
Drive-By Truckers play Revolution Hall on Thursday, November 12, with The Minus 5 opening. The show starts at 7 PM, and tickets start at $63.41.
If you're not familiar, the Truckers have been at this since 1996, built around the songwriting of Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley. They've put out 14 studio albums and played more than 2,500 shows, with long-time drummer Brad Morgan and current members Jay Gonzalez and Matt Patton helping to shape their sound. It's raw, guitar-heavy rock with a Southern lean, and the songs usually center on storytelling.
For a while, that storytelling turned toward the political. Between 2016 and 2020, they released a trilogy—American Band, The Unraveling, and The New OK—that looked directly at the state of American society. In 2022, they shifted gears with Welcome 2 Club XIII, an introspective look back at their early days and the realities of adult life and parenting. Since then, they've revisited their catalog: The Complete Dirty South came out in 2023, followed by a deluxe reissue of Southern Rock Opera in 2024, and Definitive Decoration Day in November 2025, an expanded edition of the 2003 album that first established them as one of the country's great rock storytellers.
