Icelandic electric-pop singer Daði Freyr performs live on his Too Much Not Enough Tour, with special guest BRÍET.
Daði Freyr brings his Too Much Not Enough Tour to the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom on Saturday, October 24, with special guest BRÍET opening the night. Freyr is an Icelandic electric-pop singer, songwriter, and musician who's been working since 2012, when he started out with the band Retrobot. They won the Icelandic contest Músíktilraunir that same year, and he eventually stepped out on his own in 2017 with the EP Næsta Skref. He followed that up with the album & Co. in 2019.
Most people recognize him from his 2020 song "Think About Things," which won the Icelandic song contest Söngvakeppni and became a genuine international hit. It earned a silver record in the UK, landed at No. 6 on TIME magazine's Top 10 Songs of 2020, and has racked up more than 118 million streams on Spotify. That track put him on the map far beyond Iceland, and he's carried a Eurovision following ever since.
Born in Reykjavík on June 30, 1992, Freyr has built his sound on synth-heavy hooks and danceable tracks. His repertoire spans pop, electronic, synth-pop, and electropop, so the set should lean into that bright, electronic side of things. BRÍET joins him as the special guest, making it a double bill of Icelandic pop on the same stage.
