Bilingual science workshop for curious kids ages 3-5 to explore early science and engineering concepts with their families.
OMSI is hosting Curiosity Kids: Sasquatch Science Team on Saturday, October 24, at the Discovery Lab. It's part of Curiosity Kids, the museum's bilingual program for children ages 3 to 5, which is built around early science and engineering concepts. The whole thing is designed for kids to explore those ideas alongside their families, so you're right there in the mix with them.
In this particular session, the focus is on Sasquatch. The kids and their adults use their five senses to get to know the legendary creature and wonder about it, and from there they look at the different ways we interact with our environment. It's a hands-on way to introduce STEAM skills—science, technology, engineering, arts, and math—to a very young crowd, and the bilingual format means it works for families who speak English, Spanish, or both.

If you've got a little one in that age range, it's a good way to let them be curious and ask questions while you're right there with them. The session is wheelchair accessible, and your ticket includes same-day general Museum Admission, so you can hang out at OMSI before or after the workshop. The Sasquatch session runs from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Discovery Lab, located inside the museum at 1945 SE Water Ave in Portland.
