A bilingual early science and engineering workshop for curious children ages 3-5 and their families at OMSI.
OMSI is hosting Curiosity Kids: Design and Discover on Saturday, October 17, at the Discovery Lab at The Museum, 1945 SE Water Ave. It's part of the Curiosity Kids series, which runs through December 5, so this is one of several sessions you can drop into over the next couple of months.
The workshop is for kids ages 3 to 5 and their families, and the focus is on early science and engineering. The sessions are bilingual and built around playful, hands-on challenges that let kids explore these concepts by actually doing something rather than just listening. It's designed to build STEAM skills while keeping the connection between adults and children at the center, with museum educators on hand to guide the way.
Because it's a family program, you're meant to be right there with your child throughout the session. The bilingual format means it's accessible to families who speak English and Spanish, and the hands-on approach works for kids who are still figuring out how to sit still for a lesson. The museum's educators are there to help you both navigate the activities, so you don't need to be a science expert to get into it.
