Couch Dog

Couch Dog returns to Portland on Saturday, December 19, playing the Hawthorne Theatre Lounge inside the Hawthorne Theatre. It's their first time back in the city in a while, and they're coming with something specific in mind: they'll be leaking new music live on stage.

That's the main draw of the night. Rather than just running through the songs everyone already knows, they're using the set to debut new material before it's officially out. If you've followed them for a while, you know they don't usually just drop a record and call it a day; they like to let things breathe, and this is one of those chances to hear where they're headed before the rest of the world catches up. It's a live premiere in the truest sense—you'll hear the new songs in the room first.

They aren't playing alone, either. Dark Dazey opens the bill, so the night starts well before Couch Dog takes the stage. Between the two, you're getting a full evening of music rather than a single set, which makes the trip to the Hawthorne worth it.

The show is on Saturday, December 19, with doors opening at 7 PM and the music starting at 8 PM. Tickets are $26.89.
