Chipped Nail Polish brings scrappy indie rock, surf-punk energy and tender lo-fi pop to The Six Below Midnight, with support from Mckenna Esteb and Frecks.
Chipped Nail Polish headline The Six Below Midnight on Friday, November 6, with Mckenna Esteb and Frecks opening. The night is presented by The Six Below Midnight, and it's 21+.
Chipped Nail Polish started when Jill fronted the project with little more than an electric ukulele and a bad manicure, playing the basements and living rooms of the University of Oregon's house show scene before the band moved north to Portland. The sound draws from Beach Bunny, Snail Mail, Soccer Mommy, FIDLAR and Surf Curse, blending the moshy surf punk of Jill's teen years with the introspective bedroom pop of her twenties—a mix the band describes as "kinda like crying in a mosh pit."

Opening the bill are Mckenna Esteb, a songwriter based in Boise, Idaho, and Frecks, the one-person project of Jayden, a Portland twenty-something who has been writing since her early teens and draws on introspection and undying love. The show runs from 8:30 PM to 11:55 PM at The Midnight Society (The Six Below Midnight), 3341 Southeast Belmont Street, Portland, OR 97214.
