Concert by singer-songwriter Charles Wesley Godwin performing songs from his 2024 album 'Christian Name' on his The Christian Name Tour.
Charles Wesley Godwin brings The Christian Name Tour to the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom on Sunday, October 18. He's a singer-songwriter from Morgantown, West Virginia, whose music stays close to home. He first broke through with his 2019 debut Seneca and built his reputation as a live performer fronting his band, the Allegheny High. In 2023, he released Family Ties, a seventeen-song, diary-like LP that earned widespread praise and pushed him to a new level. That was followed in 2025 by the quieter, contemplative EP Lonely Mountain Town and the raucous live record Live From The Steel City.
His fourth full-length studio album, Christian Name, arrived on July 24, 2024, via Big Loud Records. It's a twelve-song, spiritually profound collection he describes as a mechanism for his own healing, written after he and his wife Samantha lost their third child, Samuel, stillborn. The album features Luke Combs on "Better That Way" and Wyatt Flores on "Hey There, Son," and was produced by bandmate Al Torrence at Music Garden Studios in Pennsylvania. It takes its title and cover from his late grandfather, the Methodist preacher Charles Godwin.
