An evening of indie and alternative pop music with Candi Carpenter and Moselle, exploring themes of toxic religion, trauma, identity and self-discovery.
Candi Carpenter and Moselle play the White Eagle Saloon on Tuesday, October 13, with Laryssa Birdseye opening. It's a double bill of indie and alternative pop, and the set is built around new material from both: Carpenter's latest EP, Biblically Accurate Angel, and Moselle's upcoming album, Gargoyle. The two records share a similar orbit, with both touching on toxic religion, trauma, identity, and self-discovery.
Carpenter describes themselves as a 5,665-year-old extraterrestrial vampire space witch, and that sense of the otherworldly carries over into the music. They released their alt-pop debut Demonology in 2024, produced with Peter Shurkin and Alden Witt, and have worked with artists like Brandi Carlile, earning a nod from Rolling Stone along the way. Moselle comes from the Ozarks of Arkansas and now lives in Los Angeles, described as a musical force with a voice that draws comparisons to Alanis Morissette and Dolores O'Riordan.
Between the two of them, you'll get a good look at where they're both heading. Carpenter's Biblically Accurate Angel and Moselle's Gargoyle are the centerpieces of the night, so the set should lean heavily on the new stuff rather than just digging into the back catalog. With Laryssa Birdseye opening, it's a full evening of indie pop in one room.
