Live performance by the American dark wave and minimal synth electronic duo Boy Harsher at Revolution Hall.
Boy Harsher play Revolution Hall on Friday, October 9, at 7 PM. It's a single-act bill, so the duo takes the whole night.
If you're not familiar, Boy Harsher is an American electronic group formed in 2013 in Savannah, Georgia, and now based in Northampton, Massachusetts. The duo consists of vocalist Jae Matthews and producer Augustus Muller. Their music pulls from a wide range of electronic styles—dark wave, cold wave, minimal synth, electro-pop, industrial, and dance—and they're known for a moody electropop sound that sits right in the middle of them. It's the kind of music that works as well on a dance floor as it does on headphones.
They've been at it for over a decade, so they've had plenty of time to settle into that sound. The combination of Matthews' vocals and Muller's production is the core of the project, and that's what you'll hear live. The set will be built around that same dark wave and minimal synth foundation they've worked with since the beginning.
