Electronic dance music live performance by Audien at 45 East.
Audien plays 45 East on Saturday, October 24, bringing his electronic dance music to Portland for a late-night set. It's a single-name bill, so he's the only act on the program.
If you're not familiar, Audien is a producer and DJ known for the melodic, bright side of progressive house. His sound usually sits in that space where dance music meets pop sensibilities—big, open chords and clear melodies that work as well on a dance floor as they do through headphones. It's the kind of electronic music that doesn't hide behind a wall of noise, and that's exactly what he'll be playing live.
Because it's a solo headlining slot, the whole night revolves around his set. He'll be working the decks at 45 East, and the focus stays on the music rather than a full band or a rotating lineup. If you've followed his releases, you'll recognize the melodic leanings he's known for, and that's what you can expect to hear in person.
